The Format
The Graft Golf League was born from a simple idea: Modern life doesn't stop for a golf schedule. We’ve kept the prestige and high-stakes pressure of a traditional club championship but removed the rigid tee times and "stuffy" atmosphere. Whether you’re a scratch golfer or a 28-handicapper, Graft Golf gives you a platform to compete, improve, and win.
Play Anywhere, Anytime.
You are no longer tethered to a single club. Our "Open Course" model allows you to play your league rounds wherever you feel most confident.
- The Global Clubhouse: Geography is no longer a barrier to competition. Our live-sync technology allows you to compete head-to-head against friends and rivals in real-time, even when playing on different courses. Every "Call Your Shot" entry connects you to the wider League community, turning regular rounds into a high-stakes league matches.
- The Away Card: You can play all 12 rounds at your home club if you want. But the elite players travel. For every 'Away' course scorecard that makes your Best 6, an automatic +1 Point is added to your total.
- Club Comps Count: Playing in your Saturday Medal or Midweek Stableford? It counts for the Graft. Just tap your NFC Membership card to your phone and pre-declare your round.
The "Best 6" Season Standings
We believe in rewarding consistency, but we also know that "life happens." A sudden downpour, a nightmare bunker, or just a bad day at the office shouldn't end your season.
- The 12-Card Season Cap: To maintain a fair and focused competition, every participant has a standard allocation of 12 competitive rounds per season. This ensures every shot carries weight and every round feels like a Major.
- The "Best 6" Standings: Your position on the live leaderboard is determined by the sum of your top 6 Net Stableford scores. This format rewards your peak performance while allowing for the natural ups and downs of a long season.
- The 13th Card: The season culminates at the Closing Major. Every participant is granted one final "13th Card" opportunity to replace their lowest score and make a late charge for the title.
- The league ensures absolute fairness by calculating every score based on the specific Course Rating and Slope, meaning your handicap and shots received adjust automatically to the difficulty of the track you're playing.
The Major Events
While the league happens on your time, our Majors are the dates everyone circles in red.
- Opening & Closing Showdowns: Hosted at premier venues like Styal Golf Club & Wychwood Golf Club. The Opening Major is on Sunday 24th May 2026.
- Hospitality & Hype: These aren't just golf tournaments. Expect fun events with, great food and entertainment.
- Double Stakes: Performance at the Majors often decides the season-long champion.
- Closing Major: The Closing Major presents participants with a final opportunity to improve their "Best 6" scores as the Final Major counts as the 13th card.
- On the day prizes: Prizes for longest drive, beat the pro, closest to the pin and other challenges.
The Road to the Champions Blazer
At the end of the season, the top performers in each division will be crowned champions at our Grand Finale. With cash prizes, trophies, and the League Champions Blazer on the line, every putt counts.
The Graft Verification
Every shot matters, and every card is verified. We utilize our new Graft Golf League App to bring pro-tour technology and total transparency to your pocket.
1. Pre-Declaration: "Call Your Shot" The Graft isn't decided at the 19th hole. You must "Call Your Shot" before your first drive by tapping your NFC Membership Card to your phone. No pre-declaration, no entry.
2. Official WHS Validation Every round must be played with a WHS-registered marker and submitted to England Golf (EG). If a score doesn't appear on your official WHS record, it will not be validated for the league.
3. Anti-Sandbagging & The PGA Audit Our PGA Professional audits every leading score. Our 12-card season makes it impossible for sandbaggers to hide their true ability over a full summer; the math and their scores will always catch up.
4. The Zero-Tolerance Policy Integrity is our only priority. Any evidence of score manipulation or "pencil-whipping" will result in an immediate league ban and a formal report to your Home Club and England Golf. This can lead to the loss of your official handicap and club membership.
